Whether you're trying to capture the perfect spring green for trees in your neighborhood, or the evergreens that you saw on your vacation to Tahoe, we can help with a few handy tips on mixing Greens:
Avocado
- Mix 2 parts Scary Yellow to 1 part Scary Ultramarine to 3 parts water
- You can add some Scary Green (with red undertones) in small amounts to round out the color
- We recommend adjusting your colors by slowly adding Scary Burnt Sienna to the mixture until you've reached a perfect dull Avocado green!
Lime
- Mix 2 parts Scary Yellow to 1 part Scary Green
- Continue adding Yellow until you've reached your perfect lime color*
*Note, depending on the richness of your mixture, adding Ultramarine in small amounts is recommended for adjusting the values of your mixture
Evergreen
- Mix 1 part Scary Green and 1 part Scary Blue
- Add 2 parts of Burnt Sienna
- You may need to adjust the hue by adding additional parts of Scary Blue to your mixture
Spring Trees (like Poplar)
- Mix 2 parts Scary Green and 2 parts Scary Yellow
- Add 1 part Scary Sienna
- Add 1 part Scary Metallic Green*
*For thinner washes, painters may skip this step to ensure transparency
